VAGATOR

Vagator beachDominated by the Chapora fort, this is one of the most beautiful beaches in North Goa. Secluded, yet during the day for a few hours, it is flooded with tourists brought in by tour operators. The village of Chapora is covered by a dense canopy of Coconut groves and there numerous restaurants along the main street. There many guest houses and hotels for both short and long stay.

Jolly Jolly Lester, Anitha Lodge and Dolrina Guest House are some of the places which provide good accommodation.

ARAMBOL

Beyond the Chapora river lies the quiet countryside of Pernem, on the border to Maharashtra. Morjim, Mandrem, Querim and Arambol beaches lie peacefully here. Infact, Arambol has the distinction of being the quietest beach with only the traditional fishermen and few tourists seen even during peak season. Most of the nude sunbathers and solitude seeking tourists haunt this beach, many of them staying through the season. But there very few places to reside and all of them get filled up in the season.

Villa Oceanic, Laxmi Niwas and Mrs.Naik Home provide basic yet good accommodation. But long stay tourists can also rent out rooms and houses from the villagers or just camp out in the jungle or undergrowth. Arambol is quite far from Panaji at about 50 kms and buses from Mapusa are the main link. Also car taxis and motorbike taxis can be hired from Mapusa.
