Rainy Season: October to February

Official Language: Konkani. But Marathi, Portuguese, Hindi and English are also widely spoken.

Topography: Goa is bordered by Maharshtra in the north and Karnataka in the south. The Arabian Sea is to its east, while the western ghats is on its west.

The People: The main occupation of native Goans is either farming or fishing.

Transportation: Goa is connected by Air, Rail and Road.

By Air:

Indian Airlines: From Mumbai, Bangalore, Kochi, New Delhi, Chennai and Thiruvanathapuram.
Private Airlines: Jet Airways, Gujarat Airways, Sahara Airlines operate flights between Goa, Mumbai, New Delhi and Pune.

By Rail: Goa is connected with Mumbai, New Delhi, Ahemedabad, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Chennai and also Mangalore (via the Konkan Railway Corporation Section).

By Road: Goa is connected by good, motorable roads, with all the major towns in India via following National Highways NH4A, NH17 and NH17A.
